1Athirappilly water Falls in Kerala

Athirappally- This particular angel falls of the sate of Kerala is located in the Thrissur district of the state of Kerala. The Athirappally falls is located at an elevation of 120 meters and has a height of 25 meters. This fall is fed by the Chalakudy river that originates in the Anamudi mountains located in the Western Ghats. This falls cascades from three different points that originate almost at the same level. This fall is quite turbulent and has a quick current. One can get excellent views of the falls from the cliff adjacent. The wildlife that one can see around this is also great, one may catch glimpse of the Great Hornbill, Asiatic elephants, lion tailed macaque, sambar, bison, tigers and even lions if lucky.

Palaruvi- cascading from an astounding height of nearly 300 feet this angelfall goes by many names such as the “white horses tail”, “stream of milk” etc. The name Palaruvi translates directly to Stream of milk and it is owed to the milky white color the falls takes on as it plunges down from nearly 300 feet above. The “white horses tail” is a title given to it for fall is narrow at the top and gradually thickens as it reaches the bottom creating a small pool. This is located in the Kollam district in a place called Thenmala.

Thusharagiri is 50kms away from Kozhikode; the tribal village and the natural bounties make it a popular destination in Calicut. Two streams originated from the Western Ghats form the River Challipuzha which deviates into three waterfalls. Trekking 5 kilometers to the up stream one can reach the origin of the streams. The highest waterfall is Thenpara which cascades down 75 meters.

Kesari and Maramala waterfalls are located in Kottayam district of Kerala.The Kesari waterfalls are also known as Valanjamkanam falls located in spectacular setting of Kuttikanam and Murinjapuzha. Trekking to Kuttikanan one can explore the vast bounties of nature.

Maramala Waterfall is about 7 kilometers from Teekoy rubber Estate. One has to drive 5 kilometers road distance to reach this waterfall. The path is rocky. The waters fall down to the pool and meet the River Teekoy.

Dhoni is a scenic spot of nature enriched by the Dhoni hills, waterfalls and greeneries. It is about 15 kilometers away from Palakkad. Meenvallam waterfalls attract the adventurous trekkers; it is 8 kilometers from Thuppanad junction. The height of the waterfalls is about 20 to 25 feet. One can reach the two steps of the waterfalls and the other eight waterfalls are unreachable. One can drive from Koomankund junction and has to trek 1.5 km by crossing the river Thuppanad.
