The Pazhassi Raja Archaeological Museum, Kozhikode is one of the most renowned museums in Kerala. It is formed in 1975 in the old Malabar Collector’s Bungalow at East Hill. Various types of objects collected from entire Malabar region are preserved in this museum.
The main objects exhibited in this museum are stone sculptures, bronze sculptures, copper and silver wares, coins belonging to the former Kozhikode, Kochi and Travancore dynasties, palanquin, urn burials, black and red wares, models of Megalithic monuments, models of Kerala temple architecture, etc. Visiting this museum a tourist can explore vast objects of Malabar region which is a rich trade centre since the ancient time.
